US stock futures traded lower on Friday as traders were cautious about how close President Joe Biden can come to his goal of administering 100 million doses of the vaccine in the first 100 days of his term. On Thursday, the new leader signed executive orders aimed at expanding testing and vaccinations. Sentiment was also dented by news that the number of Americans seeking jobless benefits fell slightly to a still-high of 900,000 in the latest week, a massive number that remains well above the single worst week of the 2008-2010 global financial crisis. On the corporate front, Reuters reported that Pfizer and BioNTech have agreed to supply their COVID-19 vaccine to the WHO co-led COVAX vaccine scheme, with the deal is set to be announced later in the day. On Thursday, the Dow Jones fell 12 points or less than 0.1% to 31,176. In contrast, the S&P 500 edged up 1 points or less than 0.1% to 3,853, while the Nasdaq jumped 74 points or 0.6% to 13,531.
